Finance Earns GFOA Award

Congratulations to the City of Homer Finance department for receiving the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the FY22/23 Budget from Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, and reflects the commitment of staff and City Council to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

Three independent reviewers from GFOA judged the City of Homer FY22/23 Budget and found it to meet the high standards of the program. Comments from the reviewers included, "exceptional job outlining each revenue stream for the municipality and how those funds were utilized,” and “the applicant did a great job in the performance measure area of the application which is one of the more difficult areas to be successful.”

This is the second consecutive budget award for the City.  We also received the award for the FY20/21 budget.  The City of Homer is proud of the hard work and integrity of our dedicated Finance staff that has earned this distinction. You can view a copy of the Certificate of Achievement below.
